A Victorian Micro Beaded Purse
A small Victorian beaded purse from the late 1800s. Tiny cream and brown coloured glass beads have been hand stitched in a beautiful, simple pattern with two rows of larger glass faux pearls. It closes with a metal press-stud. These beautiful little purses were usually hand made by the ladies who intended to wear them, rather than being store bought. This is a unique and beautiful handmade piece.
15 cm wide, 10.5 cm high.
Antique: 1880 - 1900
Very good: There is some minor wear to the fabric in places, and to the pearlescent coating on the larger glass beads. Overall there are no obvious losses in the beaded pattern and it is in very good and usable condition.
