A Scandinavian chest of drawers circa 1880, made with beautifully figured mahogany veneers. It was made either in Sweden or Denmark. The top drawer has serpentine sides and a carved wooden escutcheon.
A very practical piece of furniture with plenty of storage, but also very attractive with its clean lines and uncluttered look.
It has a dark hue that is rich and quite eye catching, as opposed to plain brown furniture that feel dark and heavy in a room.
The chest sits on block feet at the front back. The knobs on the two bottom drawers have been added at a later date, however they fit in quite well aesthetically and are definitely useful.
CONDITION:
Excellent- this piece shows minor signs of wear and use including some small scratches to the top. The drawers run well and smoothly. It is study and solid. It does not come with a key.
