A Handmade French Style Rush Seated Oak Chair
A French oak ladder back carver chair that has been made recently, in the same style and manner as they were in the 19th century. Some parts have been assisted with machines, but the arms and back have been hand carved which gives it an authentic and rustic feel. It is made of unstained oak with a rush seat. The timber seems to be one of the mahoganies, perhaps andiroba, a light open-grained type. The style is effectively late Georgian and its subtle deviation from the norm could as easily be attributed to Scottish or Irish work.
93 cm high, 59 cm wide, 42 cm deep.
Excellent - it is in excellent condition with no damage and almost no signs of wear.
