A Fine Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers c.1830
A Georgian mahogany chest of drawers. It has moulded top above two short and four long drawers on turned feet. The timber is a light open-grained type of mahogany, possibly andiroba. The style is effectively late Georgian and its subtle deviation from the norm could as easily be attributed to Scottish or Irish work.
122 cm high, 101 cm wide, 56 cm deep.
Good - It shows expected signs of wear including light scuffs and scratches. There is one small mark on the top right hand side (see photo). There is a minor repair on the left side of the chest near the bottom. The drawer runners are all in good condition, those on the second drawer from the bottom are slightly more worn resulting in the drawer leaning inwards on the right about 5mm.
