An Impressive 19th Century Australian Cedar Chest of Drawers
An Impressive Australian seven drawer chest. The drawer fronts are a beautifully selected highly figured cedar veneer, with pine secondary timbers. The moulded top sits above a cartouche-panelled hat drawer within banks of two short drawers over three long drawers on turned feet. This is inspired by Scottish designs of the period.
Late 19th century.
Height 126 cm, Length 118 cm, Depth 50.5 cm
Very good: This chest shows expected signs of age and wear, and is in very good condition. There is a split in the veneer in one small drawer, and one crack in the top of the chest. There are some old repairs which are shown in the photos.
