A 1970s Native American Natural Turquoise and Shell Necklace
A large and heavy vintage Navajo fifty-nine stone turquoise nugget and shell heshi necklace. The necklace displays a total of fifty-nine (59) large cut and polished blue-green turquoise nuggets with dark brown matrix. The artist has also used 3 mm tiger shell heshi beads. The beads are strung on cotton twine with a metal hook and eye clasp.
1970s - 1980s
The largest nugget is approximately 1.5 cm wide. The total necklace length is 65 cm, with a wearable length of approximately 23 cm from the top of the shoulder.
Very good - Some shell beads appear to be missing from the left side. The hook clasp has been replaced with a newer clasp.
